Workshop Climate Change

On 11 February 2011, MDC-Ti.Net is organizing workshop titled “Climate change as an opportunity for sustainable development” at the University American College in Skopje. The target group are university students.  Although part of the lectures will be focused on challenges that derive from the climate change, especially from the emissions of CO2, most of the topics will be describing opportunities that could be pursued further, especially the new “Green business”.
The list of speakers includes experts from the American College, South- East European University; industry: PAKOMAK- first authorized entity for managing packaging waste; NGO sector and experts in creating and managing students environmental networks.

This activity is implemented within the Project “Climate change, opportunity for sustainable development”, funded by the Small Grant Program of the World Bank Office in Macedonia. Target group are students from three universities in Macedonia: American College, South- East European University and FON. Overall objective of this project is to increase awareness of students for climate change effects, especially for the opportunities in the new green industries. At the end of the project, students from three universities will create Green Network focused on promotion of climate change as opportunity for socio- economic development.
