On 11th of April 2013 in Hotel "Bellevue" - Skopje, the first workshop was held on the topic "Preparation of Situation Analysis ". This workshop was held within the project " Inclusion of informal Roma waste collectors into the formal waste schemes". Participants of this workshop were representatives from: Civil Society Organizations, representatives of informal waste collectors, Employment agency, City of Skopje, PAKOMAK, Public Utility Company, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and other representatives. As an expert, Anne Scheinberg participated on this workshop , presenting part of her experience in plastic recycling and work with informal collectors worldwide. The purpose of this workshop was mainly introducing the members of the working group from Skopje, presenting the need for preparation of Situation Analysis , analysis of real investment opportunities and help for the informal waste collectors. Also, mapping of the informal waste collectors was required and their full involvement through collaboration with other members of the work group for the preparation of the Situation Analysis. During the workshop , members of the work group agreed that there is a real need to improve the working conditions of informal waste collectors along with the strong will of every institution for further cooperation and development of action plans. This project is funded by the European Union through the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights. It is implemented by MDC -Ti.NET-Skopje , together with the partners Planetum-Strumica , Avena-Kocani and Regional enterprise center-Skopje.
